Osterholm is providing free consultations to victims of the outbreak. Osterholm commented, “Salmonella is particularly difficult when it strikes young children.  Unfortunately one of the individuals I represent in this outbreak is a young boy that required hospital treatment.  I hope Old Country Buffet is cooperating with health authorities to find out what went wrong to ensure this does not happen again.”

Osterholm is part of the team of Salmonella lawyers at Pritzker Hageman, P.A., a Minneapolis, MN law firm that has a national practice representing food poisoning victims.  The firm is one of only a few in the United States that focuses on national food litigation.

Casual RestaurantTo date, there are 23 reported cases of illness that are part of this outbreak. Of these, 11 are culture-confirmed. Osterholm is representing the one victim who was hospitalized.

MDH told Food Poisoning Bulletin that there is no information available regarding the specific food item(s) that may be the source for the Salmonella infections at this time.
