JJ Fuds Recalls Frozen Raw Chicken Tender Chunks Pet Food for Listeria

J.J. Fuds in Valparaiso, Ind. is recalling a select lot and product of J.J. Fuds Chicken Tender Chunks Pet Food for potential Listeria contamination. Consumers who have purchased this product should not use it.

jj-fuds-listeria-recallContaminated pet food can cause illness in pets who eat it and humans who handle it.  Young children, frail or elderly people, those with weakened immune systems and pregnant women are at special risk.  Among pregnant women, Listeria infections can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery and infection in newborns.

The recalled product was distributed in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois to wholesale and retail customers.

The  recalled product, J. J. Fuds Premium Natural Blends, Chicken Tender Chunks,  was sold in 5 lb. bags with the UPC code 654592-345935 and lot code 5/5/14 printed on the back of the individual plastic bag or on the master case label.

At the time of the recall, there had not been any reports of illness in dogs. Consumers concerned about their pets should see a veterinarian.
