Vital Essentials Dog Food Recalled for Listeria

Vital Essentials frozen raw dog food is being recalled for Listeria. Consumers who have purchased this product should not feed it to their dogs.

vital-esstentials-recallThe Green bay, Wis.-based company is recalling Frozen Beef Tripe Patties and Frozen Beef Tripe Nibblets sold in Washington, California, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, Colorado, New Mexico, Florida, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Ohio and Vermont.

The recalled Vital Essentials Frozen Beef Tripe Patties have the UPC 33211 00809, Lot # 10930 and “best by” date 20160210. The recalled Vital Essentials Frozen Beef Tripe Nibblets have the UPC 33211 00904, Lot # 10719,  and “Best by” date 12022015 Customers with these products can call 920-370-6542 Monday-Friday 9:00AM-4:00PM CST  for a full refund. To dispose of food, put it it an bag, seal it then throw it away and wash hands thoroughly with soap and warm water.

Pet food that is contaminated with bacteria can cause illness in the pets that eat it and the humans who handle it.
