FuPaiYuan Candies Recalled For Undeclared Eggs and Milk

Two types of FuPaiYuan candies are being recalled for undeclared eggs and milk, two of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to milk or eggs, or who is lactose intolerant, who consumes these candies, could suffer a serious allergic reaction. No reports of illnesses or allergic reactions have been received by the company to date.

There are two recalls, of two different products, sold by the same company, Rong Shing of Brooklyn, New York. Routine sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets revealed the presence of undeclared eggs and milk in these products.

The first recalled product is FuPaiYuan Nougat that contains undeclared milk and eggs. It was distributed nationwide in retail stores and through mail order.

The recalled product is packaged in a 450 gram clear plastic package marked with lot number 20190424 on the top and a “Best Before: 01/23/2020” date stamped on the box. The UPC number for this product is 6926098773012.

The second recalled product is FuPaiYuan Matcha candy, also for undeclared eggs and milk. This candy was distributed nationwide in retail stores and through mail order.

This recalled product also comes in a 450 gram, clear plastic package, marked with lot number 20181126 on the top and a “Best Before: 08/25/2019” date stamped on the top. The UPC number for this product is 6922828864784.

If you purchased either of these FuPaiYuan candies and cannot eat milk or eggs for any reason, don’t eat them. Throw these candies away or take them back to the place of purchase for a full refund.
