Marie Callender’s Pub Style Steak & Ale Recalled For Soy

Astrochef LLC of Rockwall, Texas, is recalling about 11,475 pounds of frozen chicken pub style entrees that are labeled as beef pub style entrees. The product is Marie Callender’s Pub Style Steak & Ale. It contains soy, one of the major food allergens, that isn’t declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to soy could have a serous reaction if they eat this product. No confirmed reports of adverse reactions have been received to date.

The recalled product was produced on June 18, 2019. It is 20 ounce retail cartons containing two portions of Marie Callender’s Pub Style Steak & Ale. It has the establishment number “EST. 46299” on the product. This product was shipped to retail locations in Colorado, Delaware, Maine, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, and Washington. Consumer complaints triggered this recall.

FSIS thinks that some of this product may be in consumers’ freezers. Check your freezer. If you have this product and are allergic to soy, don’t eat it. Throw it away or take it back to the place of purchase for a full refund.

FSIS is conducting retail effectiveness checks to make sure the product is no longer on store shelves, and that the company is informing its customers about this recall. If and when a retail distribution list becomes available, it will be posted at the USDA web site.
