P.F. Chang Chicken Pad Thai and Fried Rice Recalled For Undeclared Allergens

Conagra Brands is recalling about 2,094,186 pounds of P.F. Chang frozen Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Fried Rice because they contain undeclared milk, one of the major food allergens, that is not listed on the label. Anyone who is lactose intolerant, or who is allergic to milk could have a serious reaction if they eat these products. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date in connection with this recall.

The recalled products are P.F. Chang Home Menu Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Fried Rice. They are frozen, heat treated, not fully cooked, and not shelf stable. These products were produced on dates between October 1, 2018 and April 11, 2019, with “Best By” dates of September 26, 2019 through April 5, 2020. The USDA has printed a chart that lists all of the products that are recalled. And you can see pictures of product labels at the USDA web site.

The company discovered the problem when they conducted a routine label verification check and found that the product did not declare milk on the label. FSIS thinks that some of these products are frozen in consumers’ homes freezers. If you bought these products and can’t eat milk, don’t eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the place of purchase for a refund.

FSIS is making sure that all of these products are being recalled by the company. If a retail distribution list is compiled, the USDA will post it on their site.
