Cade California Finger Light Toys are being recalled for a battery ingestion hazard. The lights violate the mandatory safety standard for toys because they contain button cell batteries that can be easily accessed by children. If these batteries are swallowed, they can cause serious injuries, including internal chemical burns and death. No injuries have been reported to the company to date in connection with this issue. The recalling firm is California Cade Electronic of Hacienda Heights, California. The toys were manufactured in China.
The recall is for Cade California Electronic Projecting Finger Light Toys, which contain three button cell batteries. The lights come in 50 pieces in a box in white, blue, red, and green. The finger lights have “California Cade Electronic” and “Finger Flashlghts” printed on labels that are on the front of the package. These toys were sold on Amazon from March 2015 through July 2026 for between $5.00 and $16.00. There are about 179,739 units of this toy that are included in the recall.
If you bought this product, stop using it and take it away from children immediately. Contact Cade California for a full refund. You will be asked to dispose of the finger lights in the trash and send a photo of the disposed product to the company. Please note that button cell batteries are hazardous. They should not be discarded in the garbage, but disposed of or recycle according to your community’s hazardous waste procedures.
