Gardeners Basics Broccoli Seeds are being recalled for possible Salmonella contamination. No illnesses have been reported to the company to date in connection with the consumption of this product. The recalling firm is Gardeners Basics of Spanish Fork, Utah.

The seeds were distributed nationwide in the U.S. through online sales and they were also shipped directly to consumers. They were sold through Amazon, the company’s website, TikTok Shop, Walmart, eBay, and Etsy.
The recalled product is Gardeners Basics Waltham 29 Broccoli Sprouting Seeds that are packaged in a green and white resealable pouch. The UPC number that is printed on the label is 848137042889. The bag is marked “Packed for 2027.”
The company was notified by their seed supplier on September 26, 2026, that bulk broccoli seed lot #W4105 was recalled because Salmonella bacteria were detected in a sample. The seeds were also used by Evergreen Fresh and are linked to a Salmonella outbreak that has sickened at least 32 people in six states.
If you purchased these seeds, stop using them. Do not eat the seeds or any sprouts grown from them. Seal the seeds and sprouts in a bag and discard them in a secure trash can. Then contact Gardeners Basics for a refund.
If you did eat these seeds or sprouts made from them, monitor your health for the symptoms of Salmonella food poisoning for the next week. If you do get sick, see your doctor.
