Jerify Magnetic Stick Figure Toys Recalled For Magnet Ingestion

Jerify Magnetic Stick Figure Toys are being recalled for a magnet ingestion hazard because they violate the mandatory standard for toys and the toy is marketed to children. High powdered magnets can be swallowed. When they are, they attract each other or other metal objects and become lodged in the digestive tract. This can cause perforations, twisting, or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning, and death. CPSC and the firm are aware of two reports involving children who were able to remove and ingest magnets from the toy limbs. Both incidents resulted in hospitalization. The recalling firm is Hefei Hanchan Network Technology Company, Ltd., doing business as Colerinsec, of China. The toy was manufactured in China.
