LEASA Living Alfalfa Sprouts Recalled For E. coli

LEASA Living Alfalfa Sprouts are being recalled for possible E. coli contamination. The recalling firm is LEASA Industries of Miami, Florida.

The recalled product was sold in the states of Florida and New Hampshire. No picture of the recalled product was provided in the recall notice.

The recalled item is LEASA Living Alfalfa Sprouts that are packaged in plastic clamshell containers. The containers weigh four ounces each. The UPC number that is stamped on the product label is 0 75465 55912 7. The expiration dates for these sprouts are 9/4/26, 9/8/26, 9/10/26, 9/15/26, 9/17/26, and 9/18/26. The recall initiation date was September 4, 2026, but the center classification date was October 2, 2026. There are 1,416 cups of this product included in the recall.

If you purchased these sprouts, do not eat them. If you used them to make a recipe and froze that recipe, freezing does not destroy E. coli bacteria. You can throw the sprouts away in a secure trash can with a tight fitting lid after first double bagging the container so others can’t see it, or you can take it back to the store where you bought it for a full refund.

If you ate these sprouts, monitor your health for the symptoms of an E. coli food poisoning infection for the next week. If children ate these sprouts, monitor their health for the symptoms of hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a type of kidney failure, which is a complication of an E. coli infection. If you or anyone in your family does get sick, see your doctor.
