Taylor Fresh Foods is recalling salsa, pico de Gallo, guacamole, burritos, salads, sandwiches, and dips made with jalapeños for Salmonella contamination. These items were made with jalapeños from Coast Citrus Distributors, which distributed jalapeños to restaurants that are linked to a multistate Salmonella outbreak. Taylor Fresh Foods is not aware of any illnesses that are linked to these products. The recalling firm is Taylor Fresh Foods of Salinas, California.
The recalled products were sold at the retail level in these states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. These items were sold at these stores: Hannaford, Kroger, Stop and Shop, Target, Trader Joe’s, Walmart, and Whole Foods. The brands include Private Selection, Taylor Farms, Trader Joe’s, and Freshness Guaranteed. To see the states where those stores sold these items, see the FDA web site.

If you bought any of these products, do not eat them. You can throw them away in a secure trash can with a tight fitting lid after first double bagging or wrapping them so others can’t see them, or you can take them back to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
