Listeria Recall Roundup Walmart, Aldi, Publix, Schnucks

There are so many Listeria recalls right now it’s hard to keep up. Two potentially contaminated food sources – frozen vegetables and sunflower seeds – have spawned numerous recalls. To help consumers stay up-to-date, Food Poisoning Bulletin has organized the recalls by retailer. Consumers who shop at these stores should check the list of recalls carefully as Listeria can cause serious illness and death. Frozen vegetables produced by CRF Frozen Foods and sold under a variety of brand names have been linked to a Listeria outbreak that has sickened at least eight people in three states. Peanut Butter Recall at Walmart, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Safeway and Kroger

Peanut butter and almond butter recalled for possible Salmonella contamination was sold under a variety of band names at retail stores including Walmart, Whole Foods, Safeway, Kroger and Trader Joe's. Some of the brand names included in the recall are Arrowhead Mills, MaraNatMara, Kroger No Stir Creamy Almond Butter, Safeway Open Nature Almond Butter, Trader Joe's Crunchy Raw Almond Butter, Trader Joe's Creamy Raw Almond Butter, Whole Foods 365 Creamy Roasted Almond Butter, Whole Foods 365 Crunchy Roasted Almond Butter and Whole Foods 365 Organic Creamy Roasted Almond Butter. USDA Extends Beef Products Warning to Kroger, Fred Meyer, Safeway, Walmart

The USDA has extended its warning about beef imported from XL Foods for E. coli 0157:H7 to include 30 states and several major grocery store chains. Now Kroger, Safeway, and WalMart, among others, are listed as facilities that carried the products. The USDA's FSIS has released another list of retail consignees that received the products. All beef and beef products produced on August 24, 27, 28, 29, and September 5, 2012 have been recalled by XL Foods. The beef was sold in these stores in the United States: Albertson's, Baker's, City Market, Dillon's, Food4Less, Foods Co., Fred Meyer, Fry's, Gerbes, Haggan Northwest Fresh, Hilander, Jay C, King Soopers, Kroger, Owen's Pay Less, QFC, Ralph's, Safeway, Sam's Club, Scott's Smith's Stores, TOP Food and Drug, and Walmart.
