Sprig & Sprout Jack & Olive and Cibus Fresh garden salads are being recalled for possible cyclospora contamination. Because this recall notice is posted on the FDA’s Enforcement Reports page, and not the regular recall page, there is no information about whether or not any illnesses have been reported to the company to date in connection with the consumption of these products. The recalling firm is Piazza Produce, doing business as Cibus Fresh, of Noblesville, Indiana.
There is a huge multistate Cyclospora outbreak going on right now, with some cases linked to recalled Taylor de Farms iceberg lettuce served at Taco Bell restaurants. But we don’t know if these salads are included in the outbreak.
The recalled salads were sold at the retail level in the satiates of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee. No pictures of the recalled products were provided in the recall notice.
The salad brands are Cibus Fresh, Sprig & Sprout, and Jack & Olive. The garden salads were packaged in 7.75 ounce clear plastic containers. The UPC number that is stamped on the product label is 810028250253. The best by/enjoy by dates for these salads are July 13, 2026, July 14, 2026, July 16, 2026, July 17, 2026, July 18, 2026, July 19, 2026, and July 20, 2026.
These best by dates are all in the past. But it can take the symptoms of cyclosporiasis up to two weeks to appear, so some people may have started experiencing symptoms yesterday.
