Whole Foods recalls 43 products, including salsas, guacamole, dips, and other products for possible Salmonella contamination because they were made with recalled Taylor Farms fresh jalapeños. No illnesses have been reported to the company to date in connection with the consumption of these products. The recalling firm is Whole Foods Market of Austin, Texas.
There is a multistate Salmonella outbreak linked to those jalapeños that has sickened at least 345 people in 27 states. Thirty-six people have been hospitalized. At first government agencies stated that the jalapeños were served only in restaurants, but have now added many recalled products made with the jalapeños sold at the retail level.
The products were sold online and also in the produce and prepared foods departments in Whole Foods stores in these states: Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Kentucky, and Ohio. They have best by dates ranging from 8/7/2026 to 8/16/2026 (but in the list the best by date ranges are from 8/7/2026 to 8/14/2026). You can see more pictures of product labels at the FDA web site.
