A Woods Hill Table Salmonella outbreak has sickened at least 10 people in Concord, Massachusetts, according to news reports. There is no information about this outbreak on the Massachusetts or county health department web sites. The restaurant closed its doors for six days, from September 16 to September 22, 2026.
Public Health Director Melanie Dineen told The Concord Bridge that the restaurant closed on September 16. She also stated that 10 people were sick as of September 17, 2026. Those sickened included employees and customers. She also told them that she has not heard of any patient requiring hospitalization.
That may point to an ill employee causing the outbreak, instead of contaminated food or beverages, but we don’t know for sure at this time. The restaurant is cooperating with authorities to help solve the outbreak and make sure the restaurant is safe to open.
Public health officials started investigating the illnesses on September 8, according to Dineen, and an initial inspection did not find any violations that were serious enough to indicate a problem.
One person tested positive for Salmonella but was asymptomatic, which means they could have easily spread the pathogen. In Massachusetts, after an outbreak, any employee working at a restaurant needs to have two consecutive negative tests for food born pathogens for precisely this reason.
