Sabra Hummus Recalled for Listeria

Sabra Dipping Co. of Colonial Heights, VA is recalling 30,000 cases of Classic Hummus for possible Listeria contamination.The recalled products were sold nationwide. Consumers who have purchased this product should not eat it as Listeria can cause serious illness and death. At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported in connection with this product.

Recall SignageSymptoms of a Listeria infection can take 70 days to develop. They include high fever, severe headache, muscle stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infections can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

The code and “use by” dates are on the top of each of the recalled products. They are: Sabra Classic Hummus in 10-ounce packages, with UPC/SKU 040822011143/300067 and Best Before/Meilleur Avant  date 3 059/ 2015 May 11 and 3 060/ 2015 May 15. Distributed in the U.S.
