True Nature Hummus and Pesto Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

According to the FDA’s Weekly Enforcement Report for the week of April 27, 2016, True Nature LLC of Oregon recalled hummus and pesto because they contain undeclared allergens soy and milk. Anyone allergic to those ingredients could have a serious reaction if they eat these products. These products were sold in retail stores in Oregon and Washington state.

Recall SignThe recalled products are Original Hummus in 9 ounce containers. All products dated before 3/9/16, specifically the best-by dates of 3/5, 2/28, and 2/21 are recalled. This product contains undeclared soy, from the ingredient tamari. Also recalled is Garlic Hummus in a 9 ounce container. All products dated before 3/9/16 are recalled, specifically best by 3/5, 2/28 and 2/21. That product is recalled for undeclared soy in tamari.

Finally, Arugula Hazelnut Pesto in 7 ounce containers is recalled. That product is recalled for undeclared milk in the Parmesan cheese. All products dated before 3/9/16, specifically 3/8, 3/1, and 2/23 are recalled.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to soy and/or milk, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. You shouldn’t be able to buy them in stores because the recall was terminated on 4/19/16, but we still wanted to alert the public in case anyone has these products in their home freezers.
