Cherry Valley Marketplace Recalls Cupcakes for Undeclared Milk

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports that Cherry Valley Marketplace has recalled its “CHERRY VALLEY VANILLA CUPCAKES” AND “CHERRY VALLEY CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES” because these baked goods may contain milk, an allergen that was erroneously omitted from the product labeling. Cherry Valley Marketplace is headquartered in West Hempstead, New York.

The issue was discovered when the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors identified the presence of the milk allergens in the cupcakes during a routine sampling. Distributed in the states of Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York, the cupcakes were packaged in 12-ounce clear plastic containers. The “CHERRY VALLEY VANILLA CUPCAKES” packages were stamped with the UPC barcode # 00004961147 and an expiration date of 09/20/2017; the “CHERRY VALLEY CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES” containers bear the UPC code # 00004961130 and an expiration date of 09/30/17.

People who are allergic to milk may become seriously ill if they consume these Cherry Valley cupcakes. Packages should be returned to their place of purchase for a complete refund.Cherry Valley cupcakes recall
