Home Grown Broccoli Seeds Recalled For Possible Salmonella

Home Grown broccoli seeds are being recalled for possible Salmonella contamination. These seeds were recalled when they were identified as being used by a sprout grower whose finished products were linked to a Salmonella outbreak, possibly the Evergreen Sprouts outbreak. No illnesses have been linked to this product to date. The recalling firm is EAK Distribution of Casper, Wyoming.

The recalled products include Home Grown Green Sprouting Calabrese Broccoli Seeds that are packaged in an 8 ounce package. These seeds were sold on Amazon to consumers nationwide between August 20, 2026 and September 18, 2026. Also recalled is the same product, also in an 8 ounce container which is a cream colored pouch with the UPC number 850056627443. The top seal is embossed with the production lot code AUG172026. The recall notice did not mention if this product was also sold on Amazon.

On September 16th EAK Distribution were notified by their seed supplier that there could be an issue with the original broccoli seed lot #W4105 that EAK Distribution had purchased. The seed supplier has recalled the affected seed bulk lot. On September 17th all sales were halted. EAK Distribution was notified by their supplier on September 28, 2026 that Salmonella bacteria was detected in the broccoli seed sample that was collected and analyzed the FDA. They have ceased all production and distribution of the affected product.

If you purchased these products, do not use them. You can throw the seeds away in a secure trash can after first double bagging them so others can’t see them, then you can contact Amazon for a refund.

If you ate these seeds or sprouted them and ate them, monitor your health for the symptoms of a Salmonella infection for the next week. If you do get sick, see your doctor.
