Martina Mangoes are being recalled for possible Salmonella contamination. No illnesses have been reported to the company to date in connection with the consumption of this fruit. The recalling firm is Panorama Produce of Mamaroneck, New York.
The recalled mangoes were distributed to these states: Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, and sold in select Walmart stores. They were for sale from August 10, 2026 to August 21, 2026.
The mangoes are packaged in a Martina-branded case. The individual mangoes can be identified with a light blue sticker with the label “Agrofepac, Produce of Mexico,” the PLU number 4584, and the UPC number 07503061948050.
The recall was triggered when FDA sampling found Salmonella in mangoes that were grown on the same farm but were not distributed into the United States. The recalled mangoes and the sampled mangoes have the same source, so Panama Produce recalled them.
If you bought these mangoes, do not eat them, even if you plan to cook them, because of the possibility of cross-contamination. If you aren’t sure if you bought these mangoes, ask your grocer. If he isn’t sure, do not eat them. If you froze them for later use, or made something with them and froze it, they aren’t safe, since freezing does not destroy Salmonella bacteria.
You can throw the mangoes away in a secure trash can with a tight fitting lid after first double bagging them so other people can’t see them, or you can take them back to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
If you ate these mangoes, monitor your health for the symptoms of Salmonella food poisoning for the next week. If you do get sick, see your doctor.
