Wegmans and Melissa’s Pine Nuts Recalled for Salmonella

Two brands of pine nuts, Wegmans and Melissa's, are being recalled for Salmonella. Although there were no reports of illness at the time of the recall, consumers who have purchased these products should not eat them as Salmonella can cause serious illness. The recalled is being issued by World Variety Produce, Inc. of Los Angeles. The company has ceased production and distribution during the investigation. The Melissa's brand recalled nuts were sold in 2 oz plastic bags with the UPC 0-45255-14351-5,  the use by date 09.14.2016 and the batch code 15CNP10. The Wegmans brand nuts were sold in 3 oz plastic tubs with the UPC 0-77890-24823-2, and best if used by dates 041016 or 041716. Pine Nuts Recalled for Salmonella

Waymouth Farms Inc. of New Hope, MN  is  recalling Good Sense raw pine nuts for Salmonella. Consumers who have purchased these products should not eat them. The recalled products were distributed nationwide through retail stores and through mail order under the Good Sense brand.  The were sold in clear plastic tubs and zipper bags. The 4 oz. clear plastic tubs have the UPC code 30243 50799 and the "Freshest if Used By"  dates 10-24-15 – 11/15/15, 11/20/15, 11/27/15 – 01/14/16 and 02/6/16 – 07/21/16. The 4 oz. zipper bags have the UPC 30243 86680 and "Freshest if Used By"  dates 07/28/15 – 04/08/16. The 4 oz. bags were also sold with the UPC 30243 86683 and "Freshest if Used By" dates Sep 05, 2015 to Feb 04, 2016.
