Nature’s Recipe Recalls Pet Treats for Salmonella

Nature’s Recipe is recalling Nature’s Recipe Oven Baked Biscuits with Real Chicken because it may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. Salmonella can sicken pets and there is a risk to human beings from handling contaminated pet products. Your pet can also pass the bacteria to you.

Recall SignageThe recalled product is two lot codes of 19-ounce boxes of Nature’s Recipe Oven Baked Biscuits with Real Chicken. The UPC number for both of the products is 30521 51549. One product box has a lot code of 2199TP and best if used by date of 10 11 13. The other has a lot code of 2200TP and a best if used by date of 10 12 13.

No pet or consumer illnesses have been reported to date. If your pet becomes ill with symptoms including lethargy, diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting, see your veterinarian. If you develop symptoms of Salmonella food poisoning, including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever, see your doctor immediately.
