Publix Recalls Romaine Lettuce for Possible Listeria

Publix Supermarkets is recalling 10 ounce plastic bags of Publix Hearts of Romaine (Chopped Hearts of Romaine) for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The product has expired so is no longer available on store shelves, but consumers may still have them in their homes.

Recall SignThe product was supplied by Ready Pac. The UPC number is 41415 02886. The lettuce was supplied to Publix stores between September 8, 2012 and September 2012 in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Tennessee. The following Florida counties are included in this recall: Alachua, Baldwin, Bay, Beaufort, Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Clay, Coffee, Columbia, Dougherty, Duval, Escambia, Flagler, Glynn, Houston, Jasper, Lee, Leon, Lowndis, Marion, Nassau, Okaloosa, Putnam, Santa Rosa, St. Johns, Suwannee, Thomas, Tift, Volusia and Walton.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of this product. If you have this product, return it to the place of purchase or discard it. If you have questions, call the Publix Customer Care Center at 1-800-242-1227.
