Romaine Lettuce Sold at Vons and Pavilions Stores Recalled for Possible Salmonella

Pacific International Marketing is recalling 19 cases of bulk Romaine Lettuce sold at Vons and Pavilions stores in California and Nevada because of possible Salmonella contamination.

Recall SignageThe recalled Romaine lettuce was sold in bulk produce bins from July 2 to July 4, 2012. The lettuce heads are banded with a red twist tie marked “Safeway.” The recalled lettuce was distributed in Pacific International Marketing RPCs, which held 15 heads of lettuce each. The code on the RPC is 12 Easrom182. No carton Romaine or bagged Romaine products are affected by this recall.

If you have purchased this lettuce, discard it. The recall is the result of a positive Salmonella test taken at the field level.  For questions, call Pacific International Marketing at 831-755-1398 Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST.
