Wegmans Foods Recalls Egg Products in New York Stores

Wegmans Foods is recalling products made with hard-cooked eggs produced by Michael Foods Inc. because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall is only for products sold in New York state. The recall covers deviled eggs, pickled eggs, hard-cooked eggs, prepared salads, deli trays, and sub sandwiches with hard cooked eggs sold between January 31 and February 1, 2012.

Wegmans has stated that the eggs and products made with eggs were sold at these locations:

The following products are recalled:

  • Baby Spinach Salad in 9 ounce, 1.8 pound, and 3.9 pound containers
  • Chef Salad in 9 ounce and 18 ounce containers
  • Cobb Salad in 10 ounce, 43 ounce, and 6.5 pound containers
  • Deviled Eggs sold as a special-order deli tray, 6-pack, or 12-pack
  • Egg Salad sold by the pound in prepared foods
  • Egg Salad Sub at the Sub Shop
  • Garden Salad in 10 ounce, 20 ounce, 2 pound, and 5 pound containers
  • Hard-Cooked Eggs sold by the pound in prepared foods or as a choice on the Fresh Foods Bar
  • Kosher Macaroni Salad sold by the pound in kosher deli
  • Kosher Pickled Eggs sold by the pound in kosher deli

Wegmans is using loyalty card information to automate calls to customers who have purchased these products.
