Country Fried Steaks Sold at Walmart Recalled for Foreign Materials

AdvancePierre Foods of Oklahoma is recalling about 15,328 pounds of frozen, fully cooked country fried steaks because they may contain foreign materials. Pieces of plastic were found in the product; two customers complained to the company. One person received an “oral injury” while eating the product. The problem was caused by a piece of plastic bin that was introduced into the production process and then broken into smaller pieces.

Recall SignageThe recalled product includes 22.75-ounce pouches of “Fast Classics Country Fried Steaks” and 8.5 pound cases of the steaks, each containing six pouches. All of the recalled products were produced on December 21, 2012. The packages have the establishment number “EST. 2260Y” in the USDA mark of inspection on the front of the package and a “BEST BY” date of March 21, 2014 stamped on a label on the back of the package. The case code is 1523560202.

The steaks were distributed to Walmart stores inĀ Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wyoming.
