Last week we told you about the recall of National Beef Packing Company ground beef for possible E. coli O157:H7 contamination. The USDA has released the recall distribution list for retail outlets where the beef was sold. The beef has the establishment number “EST. 208A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. It was sold in 10 pound chubs under the names “National Beef”, “NatureSource”, and “NatureWell”.
The ground beef was sold at Bi-Lo stores in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. It was also sold at Super Bi-Lo stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Finally, it was sold at Winn Dixie stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
If you purchased this beef, do not consume it. Discard it in a sealed container, or return it to the place of purchase for a refund. Symptoms of E. coli O157:H7 infections include diarrhea, which may be bloody and/or watery, severe stomach and abdominal cramps, mild fever, nausea, and vomiting. If you are experiencing these symptoms, please see a health care provider as soon as possible.
