Lone Star Western Beef Recalls Beef Jerky

Lone Star Western Beef is recalling 109 pounds of beef jerky products because of a “processing deviation”. FSIS inspectors found that the jerky was not processed at the correct temperature to ensure that the ready-to-eat product is safe to consume.

The products are 1 ounce, 3 ounce, and 16 ounce packages of “Lone Star Western Beef Inc. W.V. Original Beef Jerky.” They were made on August 12, 2013, and have the establishment number “EST. 19563” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The 16 ounce package also has the package code “081213”. The products were shipped to a distributor in North Central West Virginia and sold to retail stores. The USDA has posted a list of stores where the products were sold.

There have been no reports of illness linked to the consumption of this product. If you purchased this product, return it to the store. For questions and more information, contact John Bachman, Lone Star Western Beef’s owner at 1-800-332-4305.
