HyVee Mozzarella Cheese Sticks Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

Great American Appetizers of Idaho is recalling 662 cases of HyVee Mozzarella Cheese Sticks because they may contain undeclared soy flour, yellow #5 and yellow #6. Anyone with an allergy or sensitivity to any of these three ingredients could have a serious allergic reaction if they consume this product. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled product is HyVee Mozzarella Sticks sold in an 8 ounce (227 gram) carton with UPC number 075450149913. The product codes are 14290402 (BEST IF USED BY 4/17/2016) and 14295402 (BEST IF USED BY 4/22/2016) and are printed on the end of the carton. They were sold in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

The problem was discovered in-house by the company’s internal packaging review. If you purchased this product and are allergic to soy, the food colorings yellow #5 or yellow #6, do not eat it. Return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
