In Canada, Ground Beef Recalled for Metal Fragments

Butcher's Choice Recalled Ground BeefThe Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Loblaw Companies Limited are recalling Butcher’s Choice brand ground beef products sold in the Miramichi, New Brunswick marketplace for possible metal fragment contamination. There have been no reported injuries associated with the consumption of these products.

The recalled products were sold at the Miramichi Real Atlantic Superstore at 408 King George Highway. The codes on the products are all Best Before 14.MA.16, 14.MA.17, or 14.MA.18.

They include Medium Ground Beef CP with UPC number starting with 217403; Medium Ground Beef with UPC number starting with 200302, and Lean Ground Beef CP with UPC number starting with 217402. Also recalled are Lean Ground Beef with UPC number starting with 200304, Extra Lean Ground Beef Club Pack 10GFAT/100GSERVING with UPC number starting with 217406, and Extra Lean Ground Beef with UPC number starting with 200306.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away or return to the place of purchase for a refund. You can see the labels of the recalled products at the CFIA web site.
