In Canada, Ortega Taco Seasoning Recalled for Allergens

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and B.H. Kosher Select Food are recalling Ortega brand Taco Seasoning Mix because it may contain undeclared peanuts and almonds, two of the major food allergens, that are not declared on the label. Anyone with an allergy to those ingredients could have a life-threatening reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses or reactions have been reported to date.

The recalled product is Ortega Taco Seasoning Mix in 35.4 gram packages. The code on the product is Best By May 08 2016 S6 and the UPC number isĀ 0 39000 00820 4. It was sold in Ontario and Quebec and may have been sold nationally at the retail level.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to peanuts and/or almonds (tree nuts), do not eat it. Throw it away or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
