In Canada, Pies Recalled for Undeclared Milk, Wheat, and Gluten

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Meat Pies Plus are recalling The Pie Guy brand pies for undeclared milk, wheat, and gluten, some of the major food allergies. Anyone with an allergy to milk and/or wheat, or with celiac disease, could have a serious reaction if they consume these products. The original recall on February 5, 2014 has been updated to include additional products.

Pie Guy Turkey Pie RecallThe newly recalled products include Turkey Pie and Vegetarian Pie. The products that were originally recalled include Steak & Mushroom Pie, Lean Ground Beef Pie, Chicken Pie, Steak & Onion Pie, Steak & Kidney Pie, Steak & Veggie Pie, Shepherds Pie, and Shepherds Poutine. No illnesses have been reported to date in association with the consumption of these products. You can see pictures of product labels at the CFIA web site.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to wheat, gluten, and/or milk, do not eat them. Return them to the place of purchase for a refund. The pies were sold in Ontario.
