In Canada, Pork Sausages Recalled for Undeclared Wheat

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Central Fresh Market are recalling pork sausage and breakfast sauce because they contain undeclared wheat, one of the major food allergens. Anyone with an allergy to wheat could become seriously ill if they eat this product. No illnesses have been reported to date. The products were sold only at the Central Fresh Market in Kitchener, Ontario.

Pinos Garlic SausageThe products are Central Fresh Market Pino’s Fresh Garlic Pork Sausage in variable sizes. The UPC number starts with  0 202149 and all products with a “packed on” date before and including 14.MA.02 are included in the recall. Also recalled are Central Fresh Market Pino’s Garlic Pork Breakfast Sausage in variable sizes. The UPC number starts with 0 202160 and all products with a “packed on” date before and including 14.MA.02 are recalled. Finally, Central Fresh Market Central’s Own Store Made Pork Breakfast Sausage is recalled, in variable sizes. The UPC number starts with 0 202170, and all products with a “packed on” date before and including 14.MA.02 are included.

If you are allergic to wheat and purchased this product, do not eat it. Return it to the place of purchase for a refund. You can see pictures of the product labels at the CFIA web site.
