In Canada, Sandwiches Recalled for Salmonella

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Lucerne Foods are recalling various sandwich products because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the consumption of these products.

The recalled products include Roast Beef Submarine with UPC number 6 89048 03110 3 and codes on the product BB MR 11, BB MR 12, BB MR 13, BB MR 14, and BB MR 17. Also recalled are Meat Lover’s Sandwich, with UPC number 6 89048 03117 9 and codes on the product BB MR 11, BB MR 12, BB MR 13, BB MR 16, and BB MR 17. Roast Beef Submarine sandwiches are recalled, with UPC number 0 79944 00991 2 and code 4051. Finally, Roast Beef & Cheddar Sandwich is recalled, with UPC number 0 79944 00987 5 and code on the product 4051. The products were sold in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and may have been sold in other provinces.

There are no brand names on the products. You can see pictures of the product labels at the CFIA web site. If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Discard them or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
