LeftCoast GrassFed Recalls Beef Produced by Rancho Feeding Corp.

LeftCoast GrassFed is recalling all of its beef produced between January 7, 2013 and January 7, 2014 because it was made at the Rancho Feeding Corporation facility that processed diseased and unsound animals without benefit of federal inspection. Rancho Feeding recalled 8,742,700 pounds of beef last week because it was considered adulterated and unfit for human food.

Beef-CarcassThe LeftCoast GrassFed company contracted with Rancho Feeding Corporation to process cows on a few days in the summer and fall of 2013. There is no evidence that their products are unwholesome or compromised, but out of an abundance of caution, they are recalling their product. No reports of illness have been received connected to any LeftCoast GrassFed products. LeftCoast Grassfed uses a sustainable, grass-pasture environment, certified by the American Grassfed Association and Animal Welfare Approved.

LeftCoast GrassFed said in a statement, “we are sorry for this inconvenience and saddened by the waste of millions of pounds of meat, some of which, like ours, was raised with meticulous care and attention to the health and well-being of the animals that produced it.”

If you purchased any LeftCoast GrassFed product in the last year, do not eat it. Return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
