Nutriom Expands Recall of Dehydrated Eggs

Nutriom LLC has told the FDA that they will expand the recall of their product as requested by the government. The request was based on “irregularities in record keeping”. Because of those problems, the FDA said that the products were considered unfit for human consumption. The FDA issued a public health warning about these products on March 26, 2014.

OvaEasy-Powdered-EggsThe company stated that a “technical, non-food safety related error” occurred. The products have been tested at an FSIS-approved facility and determined to be safe. The company also started that “based upon our research, we concluded that there is no scientific or legal basis for us to further expand the recall beyond these six lots.”

There have been no illness reports to date associated with the consumption of these products. The recalled products include OvaEasy Plain Whole Egg, OvaEasy UGRA, Reduced Cholesterol, Vitovo Low Fat, OvaEasy Boil-in-Bag UGR, Panera Egg Wash, and Wise Company, Wise Blend.
