Rite Aid Recalls Ice Cream for Undeclared Nuts

Rite Aid is recalling about 560 pints of Mint ‘n Chip ice cream under the Thrifty brand name because the containers actually have pistachio ice cream. Anyone with an allergy to nuts could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product. There is no word on whether or not any reactions or illnesses have been reported.

The recall affects only 16 ounce Mint ‘n Chip ice cream pints sold only in Rite Aid stores in California. The products have a UPC number of 1182264327 on the pack of each container, with a lot number 24273 and an expiration date of October 28, 2015 on the bottom of the pints.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to nuts, do not eat it. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
