Walmart, Giant, Other Stores Recall Nestle Hot Pockets

The huge Rancho Feeding Corporation beef recall has started to trickle down to the secondary level. Last week, 8.7 million pounds of beef products processed by that corporation were recalled because the company processed diseased and unsound animals without the benefit of federal inspection. Some of that beef was used in other consumer products and those recalls are starting.

  1. So, what does this means! Are they recalling the meat on the shelf? I haven’t hear crap about it. Does this Meat Company solely distributing to these processing companies. Not to the department stores? How we know store that re-packed meat on the shelf came from this company?

The only way we find out about these recalls is when they are issued. The problem with huge recalls like this is that the company, which processed diseased animals for a year without inspection, sells their meat to many other processors and they use the meat in their products. Secondary and even tertiary recalls will be coming out for some time. The best thing for you to do is to ask your grocer when you buy any meat or anything with meat in it if it is part of the recall. The meat sold at the retail level was parts like hearts, liver, oxtails, and tripe – more unusual parts. Carcasses were sold to manufacturers at the wholesale level. And stay tuned – we’re keeping you as up to date as it’s possible to be.

OK, so I have some with the UPC #, but exp. date in 2015, diff. batch # too. Do I trust ’em? Hell; do I trust any processed food any more?

If the batch numbers and expiration dates don’t match, I don’t think the company will take them back because of the recall. Of course, you can certainly return them if you want to. Grocery stores will take almost anything back.
