Hua Zhi Zing Gourd Candy Recalled for Undeclared Sulfites

A&S Food Trading of Brooklyn, New York is recalling Hua Zhi Ying brand Gourd Candy because it contains undeclared sulfites. People who are allergic to this ingredient, and people with asthma, could become seriously ill if they consume this product.

RecallThe consumption of 10 mg of sulfites per serving can cause anaphylactic shock in some asthmatics and in sulfite sensitive people. The candy contains 33.22 mg of sulfites per serving. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The product is Hua Zhi Ying brand Gourd Candy in a 250 gram uncoded, clear plastic package. It was distributed in New York state. The candy is a product of China.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it if you have asthma or if you are sensitive to sulfites. Discard it or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
