MorningStar Farms Recalls Black Bean Burgers for Peanut

Morningstar Farms is voluntarily recalling two types of Black Bean Burgers because they may contain undeclared peanuts. Spices, including cumin and spice mixes, are being recalled for the food allergen, and some were used in this product. Anyone with an allergy to peanuts could have a life-threatening reaction if they consume these products. No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled products are all Morningstar Farms brands. At the consumer level, Spicy Black Bean Burger in 18.90 ounce packages is recalled. The UPC number is 2898971750 and better if used before date is APR 14 16 to JUN 30 16. Also recalled is Spicy Black Bean Burger in 9.50 ounce packages, with UPC number 2898939207 and better if used before date of APR 14 16 to JUN 30 16. Chipotle Black Bean Burgers are recalled, with UPC number 2898971674, in 38.10 ounce packages with better if used before dates of MAR 22 16 to JUN 30 16. And finally, Chipotle Black Bean Burger in 50.80 ounce packages, with UPC number 2898940864 and better if used before dates of MAR 22 16 to JUN 30 16 are recalled. Food Service size Spicy Black Bean Burgers and Chipotle Black Bean Burgers are also recalled. To see those sizes, UPC numbers, and dates, visit the FDA web site.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to peanuts, do not eat them. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
