Ocean Smelt Roe Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

Ocean Group Inc. of California is recalling Ocean brand Masago Lake Smelt Roe because it contains undeclared wheat and soy, two of the major food allergies. Anyone who is allergic to wheat and/or soy, or who is gluten intolerant or has celiac disease could have a serious reaction if they consume this product. There is no word on whether or not any reactions or illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled product is Masago Lake Smelt Roe in 6.0 ounce clear cups. The red marking “MASAGO” is on the label on the top and the lid of the product. Nutrition Facts are printed on the side of the cup.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to wheat and/or soy, do not eat it. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.Masago Smelt Roe Recall
