Home Maid Ravioli Recalled for Undeclared Allergens, No Inspection

Home Maid Ravioli Company of California is recalling 34,200 pounds of beef ravioli products because they contain whey and pork, two of the major food allergens. Whey is a milk product. No confirmed reports of adverse reactions have been received to date. And the products were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, so no one should eat them.

You can see the long list of recalled products, along with package sizes, at the USDA web site. They include Ravioli, Ravioli with Sauce, Deluxe Ravioli, Jumbo Deluxe Ravioli, Jumbo Ravioli, Ravioli Seasoned with Sausage, Ravioli Seasoned with Chicken, Ravioli and Spaghetti Italian Style Sauce, and Italian Style Pasta Sauce. These products were shipped to retail locations in California. The ravioli items were produced on various dates between September 20, 2015 and January 15, 2016. You can also see pictures of product labels at the USDA web site.

If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them even if you aren’t allergic to milk or pork. Throw them away or return them to the store where you purchased them for a refund.
