Michigan Turkey Producers is recalling about 54,011 pounds of turkey breast products that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically an “unidentified black material,” according to the press release. No illness or injuries have been reported in connection to the consumption of these products.
The recalled products are 12 pound packages of “Meson Sandwiches, Oven Roasted Sliced Turkey Breast,” with a case code of “48598” and a use or freeze by date of 11/27/16. Also recalled are 22 pound logs of “Oven Roasted Turkey Breast with Broth” with a case code of “48576” and a use by or freeze by date of 11/27/16. Finally, 22 pound logs containing “Oven Roasted Turkey Breast with Broth” with a case code of “48576” and a use by or freeze by date of 12/15/16 are recalled. These products were produced on August 29 and September 16, 2016. They have the establishment number “P-20935A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to a distribution center in Florida and food services in Florida and Puerto Rico.
The problem was discovered after a consumer complaint. Do not consume these products; throw them away or return to the place of purchase.
