Caldarello Sausages Recalled for Undeclared MSG, No Handling Instructions

4G Meat Processing of Missouri is recalling 1,288 pounds or pork and turkey Caldarello Italian Sausage rope products because of misbranding. The products contain MSG that is not declared on the label. And the finished product does not have an ingredients statement or safe handling instructions. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions associated with the consumption of these products.

The recalled products were produced on dates from June 28, 2016 to December 20, 2016. They include 8 pound cases containing 1 pound cryovac wrapped packages of Caldarello Italian Sausage with a case code of 335000, and 8 pound cases containing 1 pound cryovac wrapped packages of Caldarello Italian Turkey Sausage with a case code of 437800. The products have the establishment number “EST. 7147” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were sold in Missouri.

If you purchased these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed container or take them back to the store where you bought them for a refund.
