CC Kitchens LLC of Cincinnati Ohio is recalling about 2,415 pounds of ready to eat meat and poultry salads that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
The recalled items include 12.6 ounce clamshell packages containing “Chef Salad” with case code 71001 and “Sell By” dates of 6/5/2017, 6/6/2017, 6/7/2017, 6/8/2017, 6/9/2017 and 6/10/2017, and 13.1-ounce clamshell packages containing “Chicken & Bacon Cobb Salad” with case code 71004 and “Sell By” dates of 6/5/2017, 6/6/2017, 6/7/2017, 6/8/2017, 6/9/2017 and 6/10/2017. Also recalled are 9.4-ounce clamshell packages containing “Chef Side Salad” with case code 71005 and “Sell By” dates of 6/5/2017, 6/6/2017, 6/7/2017, 6/8/2017, 6/9/2017 and 6/10/2017, and 9.65-ounce clamshell packages containing “Chicken & Bacon Cobb Side Salad” with case code 71007 and “Sell By” dates of 6/5/2017, 6/6/2017, 6/7/2017, 6/8/2017, 6/9/2017 and 6/10/2017. They were produced between May 31, 2017 and One 5, 2017. These salads have a six-day shelf life. They all have the establishment number “EST. P-45676” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were sold in Ohio, Michigan, and West Virginia.
The lettuce used in the production of these salads was recalled by the facility’s supplier because positive set results for Listeria were found at that facility. If you purchased these products, do not consume them. Throw them away in a sealed package or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
Then clean out your refrigerator with a mild bleach solution to kill any bacteria. Wash your hands with soap and water after handling these salads.
If you ate any of these products, monitor yourself for the symptoms of listeriosis for the next 70 days. Those symptoms include high fever, stiff neck, headache, muscle aches, loss of balance, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps. Pregnant women may only be mildly ill with symptoms of the flu, but this illness can cause miscarriage and stillbirth. If you do start feeling sick, go see your doctor.
