Mom’s Pantry Products Recalled in Canada for Possible E. coli O121

The food recall warning issued on April 25, 2017 in Canada has been updated to include additional product information. Mom’s Pantry tart shells and pie lids are being recalled for possible E. coli O121 contamination. This is associated with the flour recall in Canada for E. coli O121. There have been illnesses reported that are associated with flour, but there are no confirmed illnesses associated with these particular recalled products.

The recalled products are Mom’s Pantry / Jim & Leonie 3″ unsweetened tart shells in 90 x 19 gram packages. All units sold from December 1, 2016 up to and including April 28, 2017 are included in this recall. There is no UPC number. Also recalled is Mom’s Pantry / Jim & Leonie 9″ unbaked pie lids in 15 x 142 gram packages. All units sold from March 15, 2017 up to and including April 28, 2017 are recalled. There is no UPC number on the products.

If you purchased these products, do not use them, even if you are going to bake them. Throw them away in a secure garbage can or take them back to the place of purchase for a full refund. The products were sold nationally at the retail level.
