Naturally Wholesome Recalls Half and Half for Pasteurization Failure

Naturally Wholesome Products LLC is voluntarily recalling gallon and pint containers of Half & Half with the brand name Wholesome Country Creamery because it has Alkaline Phosphatase. That enzyme is present in unpasteurized, or raw, milk. Finding the enzyme means that pasteurization failed. No illnesses have been reported in association with this problem.

The gallon and pint containers of the half and half have batch codes 4052917 or 2060517. The distribution of the product was limited.

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services identified 2 batches of Half & Half that were not pasteurized according to the requirements of the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance. The recall is for 244 units of the product that were only distributed in North Carolina.

If you purchased this product do not consume it. Throw it away or take it back to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
