Recall for Nick’s Meats Pepper Beef Jerky in MN

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture has issued a consumer’s advisory for Nick’s Meats Pepper Beef Jerky because a consumer found lead shot in the product. There are no reports of illness or injury associated with this problem. All of the product has been removed from store shelves.

The pepper beef jerky has the lot number 134416 on the front of the package in the ingredient statement. The product has the establishment number 921 in the lower left corner. And the sell by date is 02/22/17.

About 50 pounds of this beef jerky was produced at the store in Hayward, Minnesota. It was sold at: Trails Travel Center, 2700 E. Main Street, Albert Lea; Hy-Vee, 2708 Bridge Avenue, Albert Lea; Hy-Vee Gas, Albert Lea; Jim’s Superfresh, 2101 4th Street NW, Austin; and Ankeny’s, 1400 14th Street NW, Austin.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Throw it away or take it back to the store where you bought it for a refund.
