ALDI is voluntary recalling AnnaSea Wasabi Ahi Poke Hawaiian Poke Kits and Lime Ahi Poke Hawaiian Poke Kits because they were stored at incorrect temperature at retail store locations in North Carolina, Ohio, and Maryland/Virginia. The products must be frozen to ensure safety, but these specific stores displayed the products from the cooler section. Storing these products at temperatures above freezing before consumption can render them unsafe.
In North Carolina, the recalled products are Wasabi Ahi Hawaiian Poke Kit and Limu Ahi Poke Kit with UPC number 99221 00110; and Limu Ahi Hawaiian Poke Kit with UPC number 99221 00109. These products have best by dates of 5/23/2020, 6/11/2020, 6/12/2020, and 6/14/2020. The retail location where these products were displayed and sold is at 110 Duncan Hill Road in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
In Ohio, the products were sold at: 2725 Maret St. NE in Canton, and 4664 Sawmill Rd in Columbus. The recalled products at that store are Wasabi Ahi Hawaiian Poke Kit and Limu Ahi Poke Kit with UPC numbers 99221 00110; and Limu Ahi Hawaiian Poke Kit with UPC number 99221 00109. Products have best by dates of: 5/23/2020, 6/11/2020, 6/12/2020, and 6/14/2020.
In Maryland and Virginia, the products stored at an incorrect temperature were sold at 8256 Richmond Hwy in Alexandria, VA; 6301 Marlboro Pike in District Heights, MD; 1312 Business Center Way in Edgewood, MD; 3250 East Fayette St. in Baltimore, MD; 7500 Albert Rd. in Brandywine, MD; and 20904 Frederick Road in Germantown, MD.
To date, no illnesses related to this product have been reported associated with any of these stores. If you purchased these products from those particular stores, with those best by dates, don’t eat them. Throw them away in a sealed or double wrapped package, or take them back to the store for a full refund.
