Hickory Harvest Recalls Fruit and Nut Mix Products for Possible Listeria

Hickory Harvest Foods of Akron, Ohio is recalling some lots of their fruit and nut mix products for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. No illnesses have been reported in connection to this issue.

The recall is for six products. They are: 9 ounce Hickory Harvest Island Fruit Mix in a plastic resealable bag with lot number 032019 and UPC number 0-36232-06052-9; 9 ounce Heinens Organic Nut Mix in the company’s plastic deli tubs with lot number 031919 and UPC number 0-36232-01871-1; Liberty Snacks 1.3 ounce Raw Almonds in plastic tube nut bag with lot number 031919 and UPC number 8-04879-17157-7; 1.6 ounce Liberty Snacks Almond Raisin Mix in plastic tube nut bag with lot number 032019 and UPC number 8-04879-17158-4; 1 ounce Natural Pistachios in plastic tube nut bag with lot number 032019 and UPC number 8-04879-17158-4; and 1.2 ounce Honey Cashews in plastic tube nut bag with lot number 032119 and UPC number 8-04879-17154-4. These items were sold at Liberty Snacks, Heinens, Pilot Flying J, Travel Centers, Diamond Gasoline, and Petro locations in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming. The problem was discovered after Hickory Harvest staff performed in house environmental testing. They found the pathogenic bacteria on a piece of production equipment.

If you bought any of these items, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed package, or take them back to the store where you purchased them for a refund. Wash your hands with soap and water after handling these products.
